Meadows Hosts Seven Baby Races

A total of 51 freshman trotters and pacers went behind the gate in seven two-year-old qualifying races on Friday morning at The Meadows.

The fastest pacing mile of the day was turned in by the Somebeachsomewhere colt Somestarsomewhere (race seven), trained by Ron Burke and driven by Dave Palone. The newcomer covered the mile in 1:56.2 after reaching the half in 1:00.2 and the three-quarters in 1:29.

Stucklikeglue (race four), by Dragon Again, turned in a 1:59.4 win for the Burke Stable and driver Mike Wilder, the fastest mile by a pacing filly.

Ravenclaw (race one), a gelded son of Donato Hanover, was the day's fastest trotter, winning in 2:00.4 off a 1:02.1 half for trainer/driver Steve Schoeffel.

The top trotting filly of the day was another Burke entrant, Outsourced Hanover (race five), also by Donato Hanover. She trotted her mile in 2:01.2.
