Tony Hall, Chris Page and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. doubled up on Wednesday, May 2 as the first leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series (BSS) wrapped up at Miami Valley Raceway. Seven divisions of three-year-old colt pacers went to the post, each carrying a purse of $20,000.

In addition to the three drivers collecting two wins, trainers Ron Burke and Brian Brown each had two victories.

It was also a big night for sire Downbytheseaside, whose sons won five of the seven races.

In the first Buckeye Stallion Series race of the night, Galliers Racing's Primary Driver (sired by Fear The Dragon) with trainer/driver Brady Galliers went three-wide around the final turn and charged down the lane to win by a length in 1:52.3.  It was Primary Driver’s first win of the year.

Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Brian Brown picked up their first win on the card when Seafire (Downbytheseaside) cruised to a three-length victory in 1:53.4.  Seafire, who did not race as a two-year-old, has hit the board in all four starts this year with two wins for owners Country Club Acres, Joelyn Ridder, Mark Kantrowitz and Scott Davis.

The duo of Chris Page and Ron Burke collected their first of two wins with Gettingyoursealegs (Downbytheseaside).  Gettingyoursealegs rallied down the stretch to win going away by two lengths in 1:52.3.  Unraced as a two-year-old, Gettingyoursealegs has won two of five starts this year. He is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Weaver Bruscemi and Wayne Zollars.

Boardwalk Jack (Downbytheseaside) gave Page and Burke their second win going gate-to-wire in 1:54.2. It was the second win in five starts this year for Boardwalk Jack, who is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Hatfield Stables, Knox Services and Joe Sbrocco. Page finished the night with four wins on the card.

Under Your Scars (Downbytheseaside) gave Tony Hall his first win of the night.  Bred, owned and trained by Anette Lorentzon, the gelding went three-wide around the final turn and reeled in the leader at the wire to win by a neck in 1:54.1.  It was the first win in three starts this year for Under Your Scars.

Hall was back in the winner’s circle with Donttouchmytruck (Racing Hill). Hall took the pocket trip, getting up at the wire to win by a neck in 1:51.1 for breeder, owner and trainer Judy Roegner.  The clocking was the fastest BSS race of the night.  Donttouchmytruck now has three wins in four starts this year.

Wrenn Jr. picked up his second win on the card in the final Buckeye Stallion Series race of the night. Surfside Beach (Downbytheseaside), racing for the first time this year, grabbed the lead at the half and never looked back, winning in 1:54 for trainer Brian Brown and owners Lombardo Racing And In The Gym, Acadia Farms, VIP Internet Stable and Joe Sbrocco.

Leg two of the Buckeye Stallion Series begins on May 27 when three-year-old filly pacers take to the track at MGM Northfield Park.
