Stock Is Rising On Got The Gold

After what can be best described as an inauspicious start to her career, sophomore Got The Gold has quickly proved she was one that was worth waiting on.

The three-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Ideal Nuggets is now 3-for-3 in 2022 for trainer Dr. Ian Moore who qualified her twice last season before watching her finish a lacklustre sixth in her pari-mutuel debut.  That proved to be her only pari-mutuel outing as a freshman, and it might prove to be a stroke of genius that she was put away early.

She opened up the 2022 season with a pair of good-looking qualifiers at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and since then she’s produced wins clocked in 1:54.3 followed by a pair of triumphs in 1:54.

She was a front-stepping winner in 1:54 on Friday at Woodbine Mohawk Park for Moore and driver Doug McNair, and going forward she’ll try to keep that winning streak alive versus tougher stakes company.

The career winner of $26,500 is owned by Let It Ride Stables Inc and Jamie Millier.  In addition to the upcoming OSS events, she’s also been paid up to next month’s Fan Hanover Stakes.
