In The Paddock With Robbie Siegelman

Meadowlands-based trainer Robbie Siegelman recently got a visit from northjersey.com staff reporter Robert Bieselin, who penned an article on his experience this past

weekend.

Bieselin wrote: "To an untrained eye, they seem like near-clones inhabiting the identical hay-padded stalls of an open-ended concrete enclosure, itself identical (save for identifying number and letter assignments) to countless others plotted like cat- and chicken-patrolled barracks beside the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford. But when you've been a trainer for 30-plus years, you get to know the subtle quirks of your 'kids.'"

"Every one of them has their own personality," Siegelman was quoted as saying. "Having 22 horses is like having 22 kids — they're all different, and their moods change from morning to morning."
