The 2023 Battle of Waterloo champ is back for 2024. Do Better made his first appearance of the season during the session of qualifiers on Friday, April 5 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and the North America Cup eligible was better than his rivals in that sophomore test.

Leaving from post six for pilot Sylvain Filion, Do Better dashed away from the gate and made the front end easily over the off going.  Maintaining a comfortable lead through fractions of :30, :59.2 and 1:28.2,  Do Better bolted home in :28.4 to best stablemate Always A Thrill (James MacDonald) by three lengths in a time of 1:57.1. Smart N Sassy (Louis-Philippe Roy) was five lengths off the leader to round out the top trio.

Bob McIntosh trains Do Better (Bettors Delight - West Third Street) for his Robert Mcintosh Stables Inc., Al Mcintosh Holdings Inc. and Mardon Stables. The bay gelding, pictured above in that Battle of Waterloo win, posted a 5-2-0 summary from 11 freshman starts with a mark of 1:51.3 taken at Mohawk and $226,186 in earnings.
