The seven-year-old Sunfire Blue Chip mare Stash The Cookies swept by her competition and maintained control to the finish of a 1:54.1 mile to take the $13,500 featured pace at Century Downs on Saturday (April 22).

Betcha Baby bolted for the lead from the pylon post while trainer-driver Logan Gillis floated Stash The Cookies away third to a :27.4 first quarter. After a :57.2 half, Gillis pulled first over and overtook Betcha Baby up the backstretch to then scoot three lengths clear of that rival towards three-quarters in 1:25.2. She held that advantage through the lane while coasting home as the odds-on choice to best Betcha Baby with Pirate Booty taking third and Saphire Blue fading from a first-over push to finish fourth.

Derek Gilbert owns Stash The Cookies, a 23-time winner and earner of $249,609. She paid $3.80 to win.

Wink N Win overcame the second-tier starting spot to score a mild upset at 9-1 in the $10,500 Preferred 2 Handicap Pace later on the card.

Trainer-driver Brandon Campbell floated away third while Outlaw Gunsablazin cleared command to a :27.1 first quarter. After a :56.1 half, Outlaw Gunsablazin endured first-over pressure from favourite Matts A Mystician to three-quarters in 1:24.2 all while Wink N Win saved ground and waited for his attack into the straightaway. Campbell angled Wink N Win to open racetrack and bursted through to grab a 1-1/2-length advantage at the end of a 1:54 mile and down Matts A Mystician. Outlaw Gunsablazin settled for third and West Coast Beach took fourth.

Jodi Loftus and Raymond Henry own Wink N Win, a six-year-old gelding by Wink N Atcha. The pacer won his 18th race from 81 starts and has now earned $99,926. He paid $21.40 to win.

Trainer Nathan Sobey found the winner’s circle on three occasions on the 13-race card. He kicked off proceedings with a victory in the opener by Outlaw Sharktastic (1:54.1 winning mile; $3.70 to win) and later won with Waitinonawoman (1:58.1; $8.70) – while snagging the top-three spots in that race – before wrapping the hat trick with an upset by Iris Seelster (1:56; $58.40).
