Enough Talk Back On Track

Enough Talk, the 2010 Breeders Crown Open Trot winner, recorded his first charted line of the 2011 season Thursday, April 14 at Pocono Downs

With his co-owning trainer, Peter Kleinhans, at the controls, the eight-year-old Enjoy Lavec gelding left from Post 6 in Race 14 and recorded a gate-to-wire win in 1:56.3 over the 'fast' track. Enough Talk cut the fractions in :28.4, :58.4 and 1:27.4. The career winner of 32 races and $1.8 million trotted home with a :28.3 final quarter. The margin of victory was three and a quarter lengths.

One race earlier, 2010 Meadowlands Pace winner One More Laugh put in his second straight qualifying performance for Ray Schnittker, who is also the gelding's co-owning trainer. Having started from the rail in Race 13, the career winner of 18 races and over $2.1 million in purses took a two-hole trip through fractions of :27.3, :55.4 and 1:25 before going on to record a six and a quarter-length margin of victory in 1:53.2. The gelding cruised home with a 28-second final quarter over the 'fast' going.

Mohawk Racetrack also played host to an eight-pack of qualifying races Thursday morning.

The first race on the Mohawk docket saw five-year-old Kadabra gelding Equity put in his second straight qualifying effort of the year for driver Chris Christoforou and conditioner Charalambos Christoforou. The career winner of 15 races and $551,380 in purses started from Post 6, cut all the fractions (:28.2, :59, 1:28.3) and fired home in :28.3 for a 13-length win in 1:57.1 over the 'fast' track.

Up The Credit, the Carl Jamieson-trained Western Terror colt that has been assessed as a 45-1 shot in Trot Magazine's 2011 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, also recorded a victorious qualifier in Race 3. With Jody Jamieson in the racebike, the brown colt sat third through opening fractions of :29.2 and :59.2 before going first-up prior to the 1:28.3 three quarters marker. Kicking home with :27.1 final-quarter speed, Up The Credit went on to post a one and a half-length victory in 1:56.1.
