Pikachu Hanover Drops And Pops At Mohawk Park

Wins have been tough to come by in recent weeks for Pikachu Hanover, but a drop in class on Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park helped him break out of his funk.

With Trevor Henry at the lines of the class dropper, Pikachu Hanover got away third from Post 9 and chased Free Willy Hanover to the quarter pole in :27.3. Final Claim then pushed his way to the top and went on to carve out an opening half in :56.

Final Claim was still in charge of the speed at the three-quarter pole in 1:24.2, but pocket-sitting Derf Hanover came out to challenge the leader in the lane. Derf Hanover grabbed control late, but then got picked off by the pylon-skimming Pikachu Hanover. His :27.2 closing panel earned him the win by a head over Derf Hanover in 1:53. Patriarch Hanover was a lapped-on third.

Gregg McNair trains the eight-year-old son of Andover Hall-Playwood for High Stakes Stable Inc of Farmington Hills, MI. The veteran now boasts a seasonal record to 2-2-2 from nine trips to the track. The 26-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $240,000 with the win.
