Representing the Western Region, Kelly Hoerdt is a household name in the western provinces

.

Born in Saskatoon, SK, Hoerdt has remained in the west but is now based out of Beaumont, AB, developing roots in the area with family and friends.

With a consistent .300-plus training and driving average, Hoerdt is no stranger to the winner’s circle and hopes to visit it many times over the course of the National Driving Championship.

Look for the green, black and white colours of Hoerdt in the winner’s circle -- the Alberta native is hard to miss, standing a full six feet tall!

Trot Insider was able to catch up with Hoerdt and get some more of the inside scoop on what makes this contender tick:

Favourite Horse of all Time – Nealies Smartie
Favourite Actor – Al Pacino
Favourite Movie – Scarface
Favourite Racetrack – Los Alamitos
Superstitions – Never says “See you in the Winner’s Circle,” as he believes it is bad luck.
Career Goals – Open more off track betting locations.

With a passion for travel, a win at the National level would mean the incredible experience of traveling to Norway to represent Canada. Hoerdt loves the sport of harness racing and would be thrilled to be crowned top driver at the National level.
