Anita Ouellette trainee So Frisky left post seven as a 9-5 promise and fired to secure a narrow victory in the $12,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace on Wednesday night (March 8) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Driver Colin Kelly pushed So Frisky off the wings and landed a mid-pack position while Casimir Swamp Girl and parked Big Diamond sparred through a :26.4 burner and a :56.1 half. Big Diamond retreated towards the backside, prompting Saulsbrook Jessie to launch a bid from third while supplying cover to So Frisky moving toward three-quarters in 1:26.2.

Casimir Swamp Girl continued to battle at the pylons spinning for home but showed battle wear as Saulsbrook Jessie surged to the lead. Kelly kicked So Frisky off her cover and engaged with Saulsbrook Jessie all through the stretch to inch a nose in front at the finish of a 1:58 mile. Sea Change N rallied off a pylon trip for third and Casimir Swamp Girl held fourth.

Luc Ouellette Incorporated owns So Frisky, a seven-year-old mare by Dali. She won her 31st race from 109 tries, has banked $247,053 and paid $5.90 to win.
