The Michigan Harness Horsemen's Association (MHHA) in conjunction with the Michigan Horse Racing Advisory Committee will be hosting three racehorse ownership seminars on March 10-12 at the Michigan Horse Expo in East Lansing, Michigan. This will be the Michigan Horse Council’s 40th anniversary of the Expo, which attracts more than 20,000 horse enthusiasts from across the state of Michigan.

Michigan trainers will be on hand to speak about opportunities to get involved in Michigan’s program, different types of ownership and the cost associated with owning a racehorse. The Stable.ca’s Anthony MacDonald will be speaking at Friday and Saturday’s session about fractional ownership. Four shares of The Stable.ca's Michigan-sired filly Sunset Acres Girl will be available to participants interested in ownership after attending one of the seminars.

Sunday’s session will highlight the different types of Thoroughbred ownership options with a presentation by John Wentworth III.

The session schedule follows.

  • Friday, March 10 – 4 p.m. Seminar Room B
  • Saturday, March 11 – 1 p.m. Budd Auditorium
  • Sunday, March 12 – 1 p.m. Seminar Room A

Silver Sunset and Five Towns, two retired racehorses with combined earnings of more than $800,000, will be on hand to greet visitors and showcase the breed during the Great Lakes Power hour Friday and Saturday.
