Shartin N ($2.60) wasted absolutely no time finding her way back to the winner's enclosure, sweeping from last to first for a 1:50 score in a $50,000 Mares Invitational Pace on Wednesday night (March 4) at Dover Downs.

After a tardy beginning, Shartin N trailed the six-mare field to the first turn, while Write Me A Song (Yannick Gingras) controlled early splits of :27.1 and :55.1. With three-eighths to go, Tim Tetrick angled Shartin N third-over into a running line led by Bettor Joy N (Victor Kirby), who gained gradually into a :27 third sectional.

Midway on the final turn, Apple Bottom Jeans pulled the pocket and vaulted to the fore over a tiring Write Me A Song. Bettor Joy N stalled simultaneously, forcing Major Occasion A (Andy McCarthy) three-wide and Shartin N four-wide. After straightening out for home, Shartin N found her best stride and surged to a neck victory over Major Occasion A in 1:50. Apple Bottom Jeans was third.

Shartin N, a seven-year-old daughter of Tintin In America, campaigns for Richard Poillucci, JoAnn Looney-King and Tim Tetrick LLC. Jim King Jr. conditions the 42-time winner, who stormed home in :26.4 to take her 2020 debut.

In the sub-featured $27,500 Mares Open Handicap, Anytime N ($10.20) used a first-over advance out of third to wear down Moments Of Joy and subsequently hold off a late rally from runner-up Soho Burning Love A in 1:51. Art Stafford Jr. drove the six-year-old Bettors Delight mare for trainer Dylan Davis and owner Kalman Liebowitz.
