Jim Lawson, CEO of Woodbine Entertainment, has worked tirelessly on behalf of the horse racing industry in an effort to make sure that we’re not left out when single event sports wagering becomes legal in Ontario on Monday (April 4). Now that day is almost here, but sadly, at this point in time, the Ontario Provincial Government hasn’t included horse racing in any way.
All around the world people can walk into sports betting shops and bet on horse racing, but in Ontario that’s not going to be the case...for the time being at least. Lawson holds onto the hope that this will eventually change, and explains how we ended up here to begin with.
