One of the best Canadian-sired trotters to set foot on the racetrack, Goodtimes continues to enjoy his retirement at the age of 30 in the paddock named after his Hall of Fame sire.
Beyond his own well-earned induction to the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 2004, Goodtimes' pedigree and connections are filled with CHRHF honoured members, including sire Balanced Image, co-breeders H. Charles Armstrong and Gustav Schickedanz, and primary driver, Dave Wall. During a race career spanning from 1993-2003, the classy trotting gelding set a lifetime mark of 1:53.2 at age eight, visited the winners' circle 50 times, and banked $2.2 million.
Today, Goodtimes enjoys his retirement under the care of lifelong trainer John Bax, at the former Glengate Farms property in Campbellville, where he spends his time outside in a paddock named after his sire, Balanced Image. In recent years Goodtimes' only duty is to babysit a few weanlings, newly separated from their mothers.
