Part Shark Wins Preferred; Five For Henry

A pole position start was put to good use on Monday by Part Shark and driver Greg Dustin, who went to the front and didn’t look back en route to a 1:55.4 score over a six-pack of pacing rivals

Part Shark sprinted to the quarter-pole in :27.4 before Dustin managed to tap the breaks in the second quarter. The gelding had the field at his mercy through middle panels of :57.4 and 1:26.2 before unleashing a :29.2 closing panel to seal the deal by a head over a hard-closing Richmond Hanover. First Rate Shark, who did the first-over roadwork, was a lapped-on third.

The Murray Preszcator pupil, who was sent off as the 4-5 choice, improved this year’s record to 2-3-1 in 10 tries for the Secret Weapon Stables of Waterloo, ON. The six-year-old son of Four Starzzz Shark-Pop Art, who is now a 25-time winner, boosted his overall earnings to $365,650 with the victory.

Trevor Henry, who leads all reinsmen at the half-mile oval in 2012, had a banner day on Monday thanks to a five-win performance. The Arthur, ON sulky sitter clicked with Lady J K (1:58.1), Windsong Glamorous (1:56.1), Royal Outlook (1:55.2), Eagle Luck (1:57.2) and Millionlaughs (1:57.2).
