Moneyman Mikki stalked Battleshoe Hart from the pocket, then blew by him in the sloppy sretch to capture Friday’s $13,514 second leg of the Wilbur Zendt Memorial Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. It was the second straight win for Moneyman Mikki in the series for three- and four-year-old horses, colts and geldings.

Battleshoe Hart, also an opening leg winner, deflected the first-over challenge of Chiseled In Faith but couldn’t shake Moneyman Mikki, who was sent off as the 1-2 favourite. The four-year-old Always B Miki-Not Before Eight gelding eschewed the Lightning Lane and attacked Battleshow Hart outside for Dave Palone. He scored in 1:54.1, a length better than Fredericktown Lad, while Battleshoe Hart saved show.

Rick Hercules trains Moneyman Mikki, who won his third straight overall, for Jack Piatt III, Howard Alexander, Joseph Seman and William Schmid.

Aaron Merriman piloted five winners and Palone three on the 14-race card.

Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes on Wednesday when the program features a $1,349.93 carryover in the Lucky7 (race three). First post is 12:45 p.m.
