Quaker Jet added the EUR$200,000 Grand Criterium De Vitesse to his resume thanks to a solid victory in Sunday’s feature race at Cagnes sur Mer in France

.

The son of Love You-Jenny Jet rallied from just off the pace to win the 1,609 metres event in 1:54 for trainer/driver Jean Etienne Dubois. Priscilla Blue finished second with Brioni rounding out the top three.

Last year’s Kentucky Futurity champion, Wishing Stone, was sent off as the favourite, but the best he could do was come up with a fifth-place finish.

Past winners of the Grand Criterium de Vitesse include such greats as Peace Corps (1992), Moni Maker (2000) and Varenne (2002).
