Trainer John MacMillan has watched his stable put up some very big numbers this season, but the most

impressive number of them all is his beefed-up UTR which soared to .510 thanks to a four-win performance at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday evening.

MacMillan, who even engineered one of the winning trips, has already racked up 27 wins this season from just 77 starts. That translates into a 35% win rate and more than $100,000 in purse earnings.

Easy Livin Smiley (2:01.1) got things started with his win in Race 3. MacMillan worked out the winning trip for the son of Grinfromeartoear. Darrell Coville worked out the winning trip in Race 7 with Reign Of Fire (1:55.1), giving MacMillan his second training victory one the 15-race card.

Cherry Picker (1:56.2) and Jacques Beaudoin took the next race to give MacMillan the hat trick, and Coville worked out the winning trip for White Ice (2:00.3), who drew off to win by a pair of lengths in Race 13.

The Grand Slam bumped MacMillan’s lifetime win total to 858, and it helped his overall purse earnings climb to $5,347,178.
