Docsphillycheese waited until the stretch to make his move and win the featured $11,600 Preferred Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Monday, March 11.

Alfie Carroll and the Brittany Kennedy student got away fourth from the rail in the feature. After maintaining pylon position through the opening panel in :27.3, Docsphillycheese moved to the outside; however, he did not make up any ground and continued in fourth through the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:26.4. Waiting until the stretch drive to make his biggest move, Docsphillycheese brushed through to win by one length in 1:56.2. Hollys Treasure (Daniel Clements) finished second and It Takes Two (Lorne House) completed the triactor.

Docsphillycheese is a five-year-old horse owned by breeders Brittany Kennedy and Moneyclip Racing. The son of Betterthancheddar-Flight Of An Angel has made 66 career starts with a record of 19-9-9 and $115,781 banked. He returned $6 as the bettors' choice.
