Racing Official Doesn’t Want Jail Term

A racetrack official that pled guilty a wire fraud charge last year for having accepted money and other forms of kickbacks in exchange for privileged racing information is back in the news.

An article by the Paulick Report has cited court filings as saying that former Penn National Race Track officials Craig Lytel is asking for probation instead of a prison sentence.

Lytel’s lawyer, Frank Sluzis has said that his client, who is age 61, has medical conditions and that a stay in prison would “prevent the necessary management of his conditions.”

The results of Lytel’s sentencing are expected to be announced sometime in February.
