While fans of harness racing are eager to see many of the sport's stars return to the racetrack, one Standardbred has piqued the interest more than others.

Not surprisingly, that's also the horse recently named the 2021 Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year: Desperate Man, who was last seen on the racetrack concluding his sophomore season in the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final.

In recent voting on the SC web poll, fans were asked to select the 2021 O'Brien Award finalist that they were most looking forward to seeing return to the racetrack and campaigning throughout 2022. Desperate Man garnered 29 percent of the votes, followed by divisional rival Bulldog Hanover (14 percent) and talented trotting filly Venerable (8 percent).

The connections of Desperate Man recently provided an update on the now-four-year-old pacer as he has resumed training for his 2022 campaign.
