I Get It benefitted from a perfect journey and upset the field in the $33,784 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 20).

At the start of the race, Northern Express left for early position and took the lead from I Get It through a :27.3 first quarter. Northern Express parked out 3-5 favourite Muscle Dynasty for half a mile, duelling past the half in :56.1 before putting away his outside rival at three-quarters in 1:25 with I Get It watching all the action from the pocket.

JL Cruze circled three-wide at the top of the stretch, but his bid failed. Meanwhile, I Get It muscled his way along through along the pylons, trotting past Northern Express on the wire to win by a head in 1:55. Darbyshire finished a ground-saving third.

I Get It, whom Tim Tetrick drove for Scott Di Domenico, is owned by Triple D Stables and Michael Rekoon. The son of Dontyouforgetit paid $13.20 to win.

There is a Pick-4 carryover of $1,993 and a pentafecta carryover of $2,297 on Wednesday’s card. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
