Regally-bred U S Captain has been retired from racing and will stand at stud in 2024.

Woodmere Standardbreds is thrilled to welcome U S Captain to its stallion roster. A handsome and wonderfully conformed son of the incomparable Captaintreacherous, U S Captain was a $180,000 yearling. His dam is the great American Jewel, a world champion at both two and three and three-time divisional award winner.

U S Captain took a mark of 1:49 as a three-year-old, with a beaten time of 1:51.2 at two and 1:48.1 at three.  As a three-year-old, U S Captain raced in the finals of the Meadowlands Pace, the Messenger and the Progress Pace while facing the likes of Captain Crunch, Bettors Wish and Dancin Lou.

A versatile performer, U S Captain sports wins on a half-mile track (1:51.3), five-eighths (1:51.1) and mile track (1:49) while pacing 16 sub-1:50 miles in a career with more than 100 starts and 52 top-three finishes along with 22 wins and $391,640 in earnings.

From a family loaded with talent the likes of millionaires American Mercury and Luck Be Withyou, U S Captain is the half-sibling to 2023 stakes-winning two-year-old Odds On Platinum p,2,1:52.2s ($370,000).

"U S Captain defines the art of modern breeding," noted Woodmere Standardbreds' Bruce Wood. "We're excited to offer breeders in Atlantic Canada a stallion that offers the balance of fashionable genetics with early speed and longevity."

U S Captain stands his first season at stud in Prince Edward Island for an introductory fee of $1,800. For more information or to book your mare, please contact Bruce at 902-393-1294.
