Feeling Sweet ($8.80) delivered a wire-to-wire 1:51.1 score in Wednesday's (Feb. 16) $30,000 Mares Winners Over/Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs.

Driver Mike Cole sent Feeling Sweet to the lead through a :26 first quarter, seating Tae in the pocket while 3-5 favourite Scuola Hanover floated into fourth from her outside post position. Feeling Sweet maintained a brisk pace through a :54.4 half and evaded a first-over challenge from Scuola Hanover past three-quarters in 1:22.3. Turning for home, Feeling Sweet dug in to repel Tae and Pat Berry's late challenge from the pocket, prevailing by three-quarters of a length. Moments Of Joy (Victor Kirby) was a ground-saving third.

Joe Columbo trains Feeling Sweet, a five-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou, for George & Tina Dennis Racing.

Pat Berry drove three winners on the 12-race card.

Sprocket, who equalled the 1:48.2 Dover Downs track record for older pacers last week, headlines Thursday's (Feb. 17) $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace, carded as race 12. The program also features several carryovers: $1,490 in the Pick-3, $2,514 in the Pick-4, $970 in the Pick-5 and $2,373 in the final-race pentafecta. First post is 4:30 p.m.
