Woodbine Preferred To Define The World

Define The World was a disappointing seventh when he took on Preferred foes at Woodbine Racetrack on February 4, but he was iron tough in Monday’s follow-up performance in the featured tilt for trotters.

Paul MacDonell wasted no time hustling the veteran to the lead, and after throwing down fractions of :27.4, :56.4 and 1:25.1 the gelding finished off his foes with a :29.4 closing panel en route to the 1:55 score. Runner-up Zeus Lightning was 1-1/2 lengths in arrears, with E W Fisher finishing a fast-closing third.

John Bax trains Define The World for owner/breeder Al Libfeld of Pickering, ON, and together they’ve watched the eight-year-old son of Duke Of York-Venice Holiday assemble a 2-1-0 record in his first four starts of the season. The 38-time winner has banked in excess of $1.7 million in career earnings.
