Majorca N returned to her winning form and took the $25,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night (Feb. 1).

Majorca N and driver Corey Callahan outpaced Shes Pukka N from the start and surged to the front, reaching the quarter in :27.4 The 4-5 betting favourite, Majorca N continued unchallenged on the lead and reached the half in :56.3.

The pacing mares started to pair up down the backstretch as Incaseyoudidntknow moved off the rail from third and sprinted first-over with Feeling Sweet and Divine Deo following the outside flow. Incaseyoudidntknow challenged Majorica N as they raced side by side to the three-quarters in 1:24.3, but she could not sustain that bid and Feeling Sweet circled three-wide in full attack mode entering the stretch. However, Majorca N was too powerful and went on to win by a measured length in 1:52.2. Feeling Sweet finished second and Incaseyoudidntknow was third.

Majorca N paid $3.60 for the win. The eight-year-old Art Major mare, who won a pair of Dover Opens late last year and made her third start of the 2023 season a winning one, is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. of Freehold, New Jersey and trainer Dylan Davis of Harrington, Delaware. She is a career winner of 26 races and $343,489.

The win was one of four on the betting card for Callahan.

Penzance Hanover will attempt to win his third consecutive race when he tangles with Backstreet Shadow in the Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday night. Post time for the first race is 4:30 p.m.
