Following a pair of runner-up finishes in the $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot, Scene A Magician conjured up a winning performance on Friday night (February 1) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Scene A Magician and driver Greg Dustin tracked All Out Henry, who collared the front-striding Sicario at the 1:29 third quarter mark. The five-year-old Daylon Magician gelding then rallied three-wide onto the scene and scored a 2-3/4-length victory in 1:59.4 for owner/trainer Jennifer Pinkerton.

All Out Henry, the winner two weeks ago, crossed the wire in second-place with Liam Needsome coming on to finish third ahead of favourite Sicario.

Send postward as the 8-5 second choice, Scene A Magician paid $5.40 to win.

The victory was his ninth from 41 lifetime starts and bumped his bankroll to $153,006.
