After posting back-to-back wins at Yonkers Raceway a road trip was in order for Amigo Volo in his quest to triple up for trainer Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman, and triple up he did thanks to his Tuesday triumph in the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Dover Downs.

Amigo Volo was parked through the opening quarter after Warrior One threw down the first panel of :27.3. Victor Kirby hustled Amigo Volo to the top as the field moved in front of the grandstand, and once they cleared the threw down middle fractions of :56.2 and 1:24.1. The 1-2 favourite then brushed home in :29.1 to win by two lengths over Warrior One in 1:53.2. Crystal Fashion took home the show dough.

Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman trains the four-year-old son of Father Patrick-Margarita Momma for owners Pinske Stables and David Miller.

The win was the fifth of the year for the 20-time winner who has banked in excess of $1.7 million to date.

A pair of full-brother pacers are set to compete against one another in the 11th race on Thursday, December 30 at Dover Downs.

Red Power (Telllitlikeitis-Power Of Presence) and Power Of Tell will square off against one another in the same race. Five-year-old Red Power is trained by Brian Malone and owned by Peter Paul Venturini and has finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 17 of 24 starts this year. His lifetime earnings are $116,585. He drew post 7.

His younger brother, four-year-old Power Of Tell is trained and co-owned by William ( Buddy) Bright and Dawn Webb. Power of Tell has finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 15 of 35 starts this season. However, he has an edge in lifetime money earned with $137,257. He drew post 9 and scores from the second tier.
