The results are in! Congratulations to Nikki Branigan of Grand Valley, Ont., who has won the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s Horsin’ Around Video Contest. Nikki’s video is of Curious Cortez having a blast in the paddock with his stuffed horse.
Curious Cortez is the first foal from the Camluck mare Live To Dream and was known around the barn as the youngster with loads of energy! To keep him busy, Nikki found several stuffed animals for him to play with as well as a yoga ball that the absolutely loved.
“He enjoyed playing with yoga balls too but I had to be careful when to give him those because it's very windy here a lot of the time and they can blow away!”
Branigan sold Cortez at this year’s London Selected Yearling Sale and is hoping he will race as tough as his mother, Live to Dream.
In conjunction with the contest we asked voters to submit a caption for their favourite video. Ashley Bochenek of Waterdown, Ont., was the winner with her caption “The best of friends are the ones who don't talk back!” For winning, Ashley has won a $50 Fan Club prize package.
Branigan has won a $50 gift certificate to Mohawk Racetrack, a Fan Club prize package and a $50 donation to the registered charity of her choice - the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society.
