Published: December 21, 2015 04:46 pm EST

Officials with Horse Racing Alberta have announced that anyone that has received a positive for ractopamine in the province of Alberta up to this date will not have to declare it on their licence renewal application.

The notice was sent out to horsepeople in all breeds.

The notice was signed by Doug Fenske, HRA’s manager of racing supervision and security.

The notice also states that, moving forward, a ractopamine positive will be dealt with as a Class 2 drug, as stated in the RCI Guidelines.
