After four months away from the racetrack, O'Brien Award winning Run Director returned to the track last week for the first time with a 1:58.3 mile and came back this week to record a faster time at the Woodbine Mohawk Park qualifiers on Friday morning (Dec. 2).
Sylvain Filion had the lines of the seven-year-old horse for a gate-to-wire victory for trainer Shane Weber. After fractions of :29.3, :59.2, and 1:28.4, Run Director came home in :28.3 to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:57.2.
Run Director (Kadabra - Keep The Spirit) is owned by Thomas and Elizabeth Rankin of St Catharines, Ont. A winner of 17 races from 47 starts, Run Director has a lifetime mark of 1:51.2 and $669,870 in career earnings.
