Autumn Déjà Vu For Sparky Mark?

Published: December 2, 2010 10:25 pm EST

After posting an impressive elimination victory in 1:51.4, Sparky Mark will headline the $60,000 Autumn Stakes final for three-year-old colt pacers this Saturday

at Woodbine Racetrack.

The Mark Austin-trained son of Astreos will also be looking to score back-to-back Autumn Stakes final victories. He was a 1:54.3 winner in last year’s $39,800 final for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.

Sparky Mark has posted three consecutive wins for Austin, who recently spoke with WEG's media department. He is confident that his charge can once again find the winner's circle.

"Everything is shaping up very well," said Austin following last week’s elimination victory. "My horse digs in all he can so I figured we are in pretty good shape. It's not too bad of a bunch that he's in with so he should be able to hold his own (in the final)."

With career earnings of $71,890 and a 1:51.2 lifetime best, Sparky Mark will start from post three for driver Jody Jamieson and owner/breeder Leo Thibodeau of Windsor, Ontario.
