Angus Hall, Camluck Breedings To Benefit Hughes

While Kurt Hughes continues his convalescence in a Toronto hospital, organizers of the auction report burgeoning support from the harness racing community - including the donation of an Angus Hall breeding to the Kurt Hughes Online Auction from Art Zubrod and Brittany Farms.

"The call from Art (Zubrod) really sent me into a wider orbit," reported Ralph Sucee. "We (Paul MacDonell, Ken Sucee, Jeff Porchak) were focused on Ontario and the Maritimes. Art asked why we wouldn't give all of harness racing the opportunity to support Kurt and Colleen? We'll be busy over the next few days - but we're very motivated!"

Even before the Angus Hall donation, the organizers reported strong support - led by a season's breeding to legendary pacing sire Camluck (Al & Bob McIntosh, New Destiny Stables). In addition, golf packages, hockey tickets in Detroit and Toronto and much more adorned the auction list.

"Tom Harmer has donated an AdvantEdge sulky," added MacDonell. "And we're working on a variety of auction items. By the time we 'open' the Auction, there'll be something of interest for virtually everyone."

The Online Auction is expected to open for bids by Saturday. Stay tuned to SC for more announcements later this week.

It would be very classy to have a first crop beach colt breeding purchased at the auction don't you think?? The colt or filly that this breeding would produce i'm sure would turn out to be pretty special. Good luck Kurt Hughes

This is just awesome!!

Way to go Paul MacDonell and the Sucee brothers who themselves have had to overcome serious health issues/accident!!

Looks like it is going to exceed expectations! WOW!

The Harness Racing Community can really pull together when people are down and in need.
