Brainard Takes Three At Woodbine

Trainer Tracy Brainard currently finds herself in the midst of a career year, and on Friday she added to her impressive totals with a training hat trick at Woodbine

Racetrack.

Brainard, who currently sits second in the WEG standings behind fellow conditioner Ben Baillargeon, sent out three starters and won with all three of them. She clicked with Panderosa Pine (1:55.1), Marietta Hall (1:53.2) and Blue Suede Shoes (1:55) to bring this year’s WEG win total to 98. Mark MacDonald, who had four wins on the Friday evening program, sat behind all of Brainard's winners.

Brainard had a career year in 2008 when she sent out 159 winners and stashed away more than $1.8 million in purse earnings. Those records have since been smashed by the white-hot handler, who has enjoyed a 243-win season to date while banking close to $10 million in earnings.
