The four-year-old Bettors Delight gelding Twin B Powerball pushed from a pocket trip to a 1:53 win in the $13,000 Preferred Pace at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday night (Nov. 9).
Dontpokethedragon darted from post eight to the point before a :26.4 first quarter and tried to snag a breather to a :55.3 half, but then had to start rolling as Ideal Perception cruised uncovered to three-quarters in 1:23.3. All the while, driver Brett MacDonald sat steady with Twin B Powerball and launched through the open stretch to a three-quarter-length win over Ideal Perception. Dontpokethedragon faded to third and Magical Albert took fourth.
Richard Moreau trains Twin B Powerball for owners Gaston Bibeau and Ecurie Francis Richard Inc. He won his eighth race from 32 starts and has now earned $83,595. He paid $4.40 to win.
