Pembrook Legacy N overcame his outside post assignment and wired the field to win Friday's featured $13,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Trained and driven by Lorne House, Pembrook Legacy N faced a field of eight (with one trailer) from the outside post seven and he blasted across the track to take command at the start. The nine-year-old Bettors Delight gelding remained clear on top through fractions of :27.2, :56.4 and 1:25.4 en route to the 1-1/2-length victory in 1:55.1. Prestige Seelster (Dan Clements) followed in the pocket while Kenny Joe (Scott Coulter) closed off cover from the backfield to snag third prize from the first-up favourite, Homey Joe (Brett MacDonald).

Sent postward as the 5-2 second choice, Pembrook Legacy N returned $7.30 to win.

The New Zealand-bred pacer earned his sixth Preferred victory this season racing mainly on the Ontario B circuit and has banked $48,150 through 15 starts. Lifetime, he's won 16 races and $128,588 for owner Samuel Taylor of Lucan, Ont.

Bruce Goit enjoyed a training triple during Friday's 10-race card, winning with the two-year-old maiden-breaking filly She Got Rhythm ($2.60), seven-year-old claiming pacer American Sniper ($5.30) then 11-year-old repeat winner Mystic Messenger ($3.40) in a three-way photo finish to close out the card. Dan Clements drove all three winners -- the latter two swept the late Double worth $4.70.
