The winner of the 2021 O'Brien Award for two-year-old pacing colts, Betterhavemymoney hasn't found the winner's circle yet as a sophomore but his qualifying effort on Friday (Nov. 4) at Woodbine Mohawk Park showed signs of promise for his connections.

Entered in the first of four qualifiers, Betterhavemymoney was a gate-to-wire winner for driver James MacDonald. After a relaxed opening half of :58, Betterhavemymoney punched out panels of :27.3 and :27 to trip the timer 1-1/2 lengths better than divisional rival Sport Secret (Doug McNair).

Trained by Nick Gallucci for owner-breeder Millar Farms, Betterhavemymoney put together an award-winning rookie campaign and was named Canada's Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year. The Battle of Waterloo champion and two-time Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner earned $335,474 as a freshman with a record reading 4-1-2 from 10 starts.
