Southwind Farms and Jerry Silva announced today that they have acquired an interest in world record holding two-year-old trotting colt, Chapter Seven from owners Richard Gutnick and Gary Cocco

.

The colt has won seven of eight lifetime starts, including the Matron Stakes, Matron Preview, Harold Dancer, New Jersey Sire Stakes Final, and two legs of the New Jersey Sire Stakes. In the NJSS Final, Chapter Seven set the track record and equaled the world record for two-year-old colts on a 1/2 mile track. In the Matron Preview, he equaled the Dover track record previously set by Explosive Matter. His only defeat came in the New Jersey Futurity, where he finished third after recovering from a break.

A $42,000 yearling purchase, Chapter Seven (Windsongs Legacy – La Riviera Lindy) is the first foal from La Riviera Lindy. He is trained by Linda Toscano and has been driven in his last few starts by Mike LaChance. The colt is presently turned out at Southwind Farms and will resume training early next year. He will be pointed to all of the major stakes next year, starting with the Dancer Memorial and The Hambletonian at The Meadowlands.

Mike Klau, Syndicate Manager for Southwind Farm, stated "Chapter Seven is a colt that came on late this year, after being brought along slowly. He has been finishing his miles with plenty left in reserve and we feel he has a huge upside. We are very excited to be involved with this partnership and are looking forward to a very exciting 2011 harness racing season.” The deal was brokered by Covenant Standardbreds.
