A who’s who of harness racing hall of famers turned out to pay tribute to driving legend Mike Lachance at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday

.

It was all part of Mike Lachance Night hosted by RCR, The National Capital Region Harness Horse Association, OLG and Standardbred Canada.

Lachance, whose career accomplishments include over 10,000 driving victories, over $185 million in lifetime purse earnings and membership in the Canadian and US racing Hall of Fame, was feted by friends and fans alike during the evening.

On hand to offer their best wishes were Bill O’Donnell, himself a member of the racing Hall of Fame, fellow Hall of Famer Herve Filion who has won more races than anyone in the history of horse racing in all its breeds as well as Mike older brother and fellow Hall of Famer Gilles Lachance.

When the three gathered in the winner’s circle for a special presentation, Lachance, O’Donnell and Filion represented literally hundreds of millions of dollars in lifetime purse earnings. It was truly and all-star moment and one that RCR fans will not soon forget.
