Confederate Headlines Meadowlands Qualifying Session

Meadowlands Racetrack hosted five qualifiers on Saturday (Nov. 18) afternoon with dense fields highlighted as many prepare for next week's Fall Final Four and FanDuel Championships.

Confederate headlined the qualifying session with a gate-to-wire triumph by 11-1/2 lengths in 1:51.2 with Tim Tetrick in the bike for trainer Brett Pelling. The sophomore Sweet Lou colt goes into the championships on Saturday, Nov. 25 with 18 wins in 21 career starts and $2,185,929 in purse earnings.

Tattoo Artist won his tune-up in an identical 1:51.2 gate-to-wire effort by 7-1/4 lengths with Dexter Dunn holding the lines for trainer Chris Ryder. A six-year-old son of Hes Watching, Tattoo Artist has 40 wins and $3,245,658 in his lifetime bankroll. 

Tactical Approach won every pole in his 11-1/4-length triumph in 1:53. Driven by Scott Zeron for conditioner Nancy Takter, the three-year-old Tactical Landing colt has $1,458,739 in career earnings from 12 wins in 23 starts. 

The extra-stacked field in the second qualifier saw Take All Comers pocket a half-length victory in 1:53.2 with Tim Tetrick in the seat for trainer Jim Campbell. Its Academic (Todd McCarthy) was second with M Ms Dream (David Miller) third. Take All Comers (sired by Creatine) is a five-year-old career earner of $753,293 from 16 wins.

Twin B Joe Fresh completed the qualifying card with the team of driver Dunn and trainer Ryder for a three-quarter-length victory in 1:53.4. The sophomore daughter of Roll With Joe has 18 wins and $1,367,964 earned from 26 starts. 

The Fall Final Four and Fan Duel Championships are scheduled to take place next week on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Meadowlands Racetrack.
