The four-year-old Royalty For Life gelding capitalized off a pocket trip to score as the longest shot on the board in the $10,500 Preferred Handicap Trot on Thursday night (Nov. 17) at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Seeyou Men slid to the top past a :27.2 first quarter and slowed to a :57.2 half, which prompted odds-on favourite Crossfit to tip first over from sixth. Crossfit continued to press into Seeyou Men to three-quarters in 1:26.2 and stayed alongside through the final turn as Cold Rage mounted a late rally and Duke Lavictoire dove inside for the stretch drive. Duke Lavictoire surged through the open stretch to collar Seeyou Men at the beam in 1:56.4 by a half length with Cold Rage just missing in third and Crossfit hanged to settle for fourth.

Returning $54 to win, Duke Lavictoire notched his 16th win from 36 starts and added to an account now worth $77,365. Jacques Beaudoin drove the Andre Lachance trainee for owner Suzanne LaVictoire.
