Forest City Sale Concludes

The second and final session of the 2013 Forest City Yearling Sale took place at the Western Fair Agriplex in London, Ont. on Sunday afternoon.

A total of 225 yearlings were sold over the two sessions for $3,043,000, producing an average price of $13,524. Last year, 257 yearlings were sold for $2,703,300, resulting in an average of $10,519.

The Sunday sale topper was Triple Seelster, Hip 236, who was purchased for $26,000 by Pam Young of Strathroy, Ont. The Mach Three-Three Men Dreamin colt was consigned by Seelster Farms Inc.

Selling as Hip 64, Queen Fourteen was the highest priced yearling of the entire sale, purchased during Saturday's session for $130,000 by Tony O'Sullivan of Cambridge, Ont. Consigned by agent Preferred Equine Inc. for Warrawee Farms, the filly is by Hall of Famers Camluck and Mystic Mystress. She is Mystic Mystress' 14th foal and is a full sister to Mystician ($1,860,422 - 1:49.2), Camystic ($779,728 - 1:49.4) and Lucks Mistress ($616,605 - 1:51.3).
