The betting public was all over Logan Park in Monday’s $38,500 Open Handicap Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and the speedster didn’t disappoint his army of backers.

Doug McNair hustled Logan Park to the lead from Post 6 and after parking past the quarter in :27.3 they cleared to the top and chopped out fractions of :56.1 and 1:24.3 before firing home in :27.1 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over HP Mama B.  Taking home the show dough was Locatelli.

Rob Fellows trains the homebred for Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo.  The four-year-old son of Archangel-Rite Outa The Park now boasts a 5-1-0 record from 16 trips to the track this season.  The 12-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $700,000 with the win.

Monday’s card also featured the second leg of the Harvest Series for three-year-old trotting fillies, and it was Saint Antoine turning a pocket trip into a solid score for the tandem of driver Scott Young and trainer Brian Lee.

Race favourite Hershey Seelster marched to the lead and Saint Antoine dropped into the two-hole and stalked that foe through fractions of :28, :57.3 and 1:28.  The sprint was on in the lane, and Saint Antoine used a :27.4 kicker to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Hershey Seelster in 1:56.  Angelwithattitude was third.

The daughter of Kadabra-Resortful is owned by Saulsbrook Stables Inc and Ed Gorc.  The partners have watched her manufacture a 3-4-3 record this season from 19 trips to the track.  She’s banked over $60,000 to date.

After going 0-for-6 to start the season, veteran pacer Always A Hotshot has reeled off five straight victories for trainer Carmen Auciello at the Campbellville oval.

The nine-year-old son of Always A Virgin-TMS Miss Hot Shot followed cover in the middle stages of the mile before unleashing a wide rally into the stretch.  The gelding kicked home in :28 for driver Doug McNair en route to winning by 1-1/4 lengths over Quan Blue Chip.  Legal Bettor was third.

Robert Watson, Auciello Stables, Dan Sarafian and Lawrence Fox share ownership on the 27-time winner who is closing in on $420,000 in career earnings.

The victory was one of three on the 10-race card for trainer Auciello.  He also scored with Muscle Fashion (1:53) and The Amazingsando (1:53.2).
