The three-year-old Archangel gelding Angels Express pushed uncovered and seized the lead with ease to post a 1:55.2 win in the single $17,000 division for the Harvest Series Trot second preliminary on Saturday night (Nov. 12) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Driver Louis-Philippe Roy landed fourth with Angels Express to a :28.1 first quarter set by 2-1 favourite Royaltys Rocket. Roy stayed put through a :57.1 half but then tipped off the pegs passing three-quarters in 1:26 and hit top gear to tackle the tiring temposetter off the corner. Once in front, Angels Express extended to a 2-3/4-length victory over Stable Genius closing for second with HP Maestro third, another four lengths behind.

Julie Walker trains Angels Express for owners June and Thomas Durand. The gelding collected his fourth win from 26 starts and has now earned $81,370. He paid $6.10 to win.

Delicate Sound opened the card with a pocket-popping 1:52.3 win in the first of two $17,000 Harvest Series Pace second-preliminary splits. Driver Doug McNair motored the sophomore State Treasurer gelding to a :28 first quarter, but yielded control when 1-5 favourite Camara Moment brushed to the lead toward a :56 half. Camara Moment controlled terms to three-quarters in 1:24.4 but failed to turn away Delicate Sound when he pulled in the straight and sprinted to a three-quarter-length victory. Sip Of Bourbon gave chase in third and Coligny Hanover took fourth.

Winning his 10th race from 16 starts, Delicate Sound has now earned $48,012 for owner Aurel Harvey Et Fils Inc. Marc-Andre Simoneau trains the $10.60 winner.

Stone Carver scored a repeat victory as the odds-on choice in the other Harvest Series split. Driver James MacDonald launched the Bettors Delight gelding from fifth after a :27.3 first quarter and took the lead from Hashtag Money to a :57.1 half. He quickened to three-quarters in 1:24.4 with E L Gladiator attacking along the rim and coasted for the beam to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Jack Panic. Hashtag Money finished third and Howyouplay Thegame took fourth.

Anthony Beaton trains Stone Carver, a homebred for Robert Bridges. He won his fifth race from 30 starts, has now earned $91,682 and paid $2.60 to win.
