Masse Stable Dominates At Fraser

The Serge Masse stable racked up five wins to dominate Sunday's harness racing card at Fraser Downs.

Among his victories, Masse took the featured $10,500 Fillies & Mares Open with Phone Terror. The popular six-year-old mare looped Pureform Goodtogo at the :27.4 opening quarter mark and cruised through middle splits of :58 and 1:26.4 en route to the 1:55.4 triumph over the sloppy track. Gracie Montana came through the passing lane for second-place honours, finishing two lengths behind the winner and edging out first over Prairie Illusion.

Phone Terror earned her second straight win since returning to the track where she started out after two years competing stateside, mostly at The Meadows in Pennsylvania. The daughter of Western Terror is now riding a four-race Fraser win streak, as she left the Surrey oval with two straight wins in 2013, when she was named B.C.'s Three-Year-Old Filly of the Year.

Phone Terror, a career winner of 37 races and nearly $400,000 in purses, is owned by Lucy Raymond of Edmonton, Alta.

It was also a big day for Raymond as she owns three of the winning Masse trainees. In addition to Phone Terror, Raymond owns three-year-old pacing filly Remember Terror (1:57.1) with Allan Neurauter, and two-year-old pacing colt Its Eds Idea (1:59.2).

Masse's maiden-breaking two-year-old colt Meet The World (1:59) and his freshman filly Somewhere A Place (1:58.2) also won their respective assignments on the 12-race program.
