Andrew Adamczyk ground along the rim and Alan Schwartz demolished his peers in rein to their respective trotters to take a pair of $7,500 divisions of the North American Amateur Driving Association (NAADA) Trots at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 4).

In the first division, Adamczyk landed in fourth with Brutal Storm while 3-5 favourite Win And Dream (Alan Schwartz) slid to lead the field by a :29.2 first quarter. Win And Dream continued unfazed through a 1:00.1 half but came under pressure as Brutal Storm blitzed up the backstretch. Brutal Storm drew within a length of Win And Dream by three-quarters in 1:31.2 and the leader had no answer to the challenge spinning for home. Adamczyk and Brutal Storm kicked clear by 1-1/4 lengths from pocket-sitter Fair Glider (Robert Ciavardini), winning in 2:01.4. Jumpshot (Joe Lee) grabbed third and Win And Dream faded to fourth.

Keith Haase conditions Brutal Storm, an eight-year-old gelding by Calchips Brute, for owner Diane Giuliano. He paid $10.60 to win.

Foiled as the odds-on choice in division one, Alan Schwartz made amends in division two with a 1:58.3 blowout by Woodside Emileah. Schwartz shot to the lead from post five and placed Woodside Emileah on the point after a :28.3 first quarter while Call Me Thefireman (Anthony Verruso) also charged from post seven but raced parked through the turn. Woodside Emileah clicked by the half in :57.4 and then spurted away from rivals. She opened five lengths at three-quarters in 1:27.4, six lengths into the stretch and then pranced by the beam 9-3/4 lengths to the good. By A Hoff Hanover (Joe Faraldo) hustled down the center of the track to take second with pocket-sitter Jeckyil N Hyde (Joe Lee) third and With Our Luck (Jacob Stillwell) closing from last for fourth.

Gary Messenger trains Woodside Emileah, a five-year-old mare by Guccio, for owner Scott Woogen. Sent off at 1-5, she paid $2.30 to win.
