Tuesday (Oct. 3) marked day two of the 2023 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky, with French Riviera and Phantomofthenight leading the bidding for the day.

French Riviera, Hip 333, yielded a $350,000 price tag. The Greenshoe filly was consigned by Kentuckiana Farms and bought by Andy Miller Stable Inc. of Millstone Twp, New Jersey. She is out of the Conway Hall mare, Creamy Mimi (1:53.4 - $929,193), and is a half-sister to French Wine (1:50 - $762,679), Cafe Americano (1:55 - $109,818), French Cafe (1:52.3 - $228,331), Miss Mimi ($102,367), French Laundry (1:52.4 - $679,629) and The Franchise (1:56.2 - $150,943).

"I was tickled pink to get her," said Julie Miller. "We love that family and gravitate to it. When I saw her at Kentuckiana, she looked like an athletic, talented filly. She had a presence about her, and when they turned her out in the field, she did her work."

Phantomofthenight, Hip 176, also garnered a $350,000 price tag. The son of Tall Dark Stranger and Lus Illusion was consigned by Preferred Equine and was bought by Andrew Harris, agent for William Pollock of Allentown, New Jersey. He is the first colt out of the Sweet Lou mare, Lus Illusion (1:53 - $44,245), a half-sister to double millionaires Clear Vision (1:48.2) and Rock N Roll Heaven (1:47.3).

"I have the sister to Phantomofthenight and she is super talented; she just has some issues she has to work through," said Harris. "But I know how fast she is. So, knowing that going into it, I really liked him.

"He's such a good looking horse and he had the presence to go with it. And if you look at that [pedigree] page, you can't knock anything about it. I didn't want to be late to the party on this one, so I said let's take a shot."

Hip 296 Balcony, consigned by Diamond Creek, was bought for a $310,000 price by Kenneth Jacobs of Baldwinsville, New York. The filly is a daughter of Southwind Frank and Bayou (1:55.3 - $16,705).

Hip 366 Champagne Room, consigned by All American Harnessbreds, also brought a $310,000 bid. She is a daughter of Papi Rob Hanover and See You At Peelers (1:49.2 - $1,566,900). She is a half-sister to Toronto (1:49.2 - $173,406), Threshold (1:50.1 - $130,665) and Ivy League (1:52.1 - $113,395).
