For the second week-in-a-row Insincerity marched to the front and didn’t look back en route to an impressive victory in the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 at The Raceway at The Western Fair District.

With Doug McNair at the lines, Insincerity led the field through fractions of :28, :58 and 1:26.4 before scooting home in :28.3 in the 1:55.2 decision. It was 1-1/2 lengths to runner-up Lady Latte, with Shellace taking home third prize.

Bill Hamm of West Lorne, Ontario bred, owns and trains the four-year-old daughter of Rambaran-Super Filly who won for the 17th time in her career. She’s stashed away $116,475 to date.

McNair also mapped out the winning trip for Sand Gesture in the $5,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3. The six-year-old Dragon Again-Western Gesture miss toured the oval in two-hole while Twilight Seelster whacked out fractions of :28.1, :59 and 1:28. Sand Gesture found clearance in the lane and used a :29.1 kicker to prevail by a neck over Twilight Seelster in 1:57.3. St Lads Morgan rallied to finish third.

Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, Sand Gesture won for the first time this season and for the 15th time in her career. Richard Moreau trains the career winner of $431,078 for Quebec partners Sylvain Descheneaux and Gaston Bibeau.

McNair tacked on three more wins to bring his daily win total to five on the 12-race card. The Guelph, Ontario horseman has racked up 256 wins so far this season while racking up purse earnings in excess of $5.3 million.
