Driver Trevor Henry had the hottest set of hands at Western Fair Raceway on Monday thanks to a five-win performance which included a sweep of the

$13,500 Preferred events.

Virtual Princess shipped in from her U.S. base and extended her winning streak to six-in-a-row in the $13,500 Preferred Pace , and that was much to the surprise of the Western Fair faithful who sent the Paul Holzman off as a 12-1 outsider. Henry had the six-year-old Cam Terrific on the lead through fractions of :28.1, :58.4 and 1:27.2 before stepping home in a :29-second clip en route to the 1:56.2 decision. Marquis Player came first-over and finished just a quarter of a length in arrears, while Shadywood Baron rallied from last to finish third.

Andrew Sassen of Hillsboro Beach, FL holds the ownership papers on the streaking mare, who now boasts a 9-1-9 record from 29 trips to the racetrack this season. The 19-time winner has banked $79,110 to date.

Bank President and Henry also used a front-end approach to take home all the marbles in the Monday’s $13,500 Preferred Trot. The six-year-old son of Keystone Nordic had the field lined up behind him at the quarter pole in :28.2 before coming under pressure from Breewood Gringo at the half in :59.1. Those two were still locked in a fierce battle to the three-quarter pole in 1:28 before Bank President drew away to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:58.2. Big Changes came on to grab the runner-up award, with Breewood Gringo settling for the show dough.

Lee Barton Enterprises Ltd of Edmonton, AB recently shelled out $40,000 to claim Bank President, and Monday’s victory was his first score since hooking up with trainer Steve Bossence. It was the 16th lifetime win for the gelding who has deposited $201,707 into his savings account.
