Trainer Jim Marino bagged four of the nine races at Fraser Downs on Thursday night (Oct. 13) including a win in the $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace with Moosette.

Brandon Campbell floated Moosette off the wings to race third as Hottieonthehorizon rolled to a first quarter in :27.3. Mystic Shadow then shot out of fifth and blitzed for the lead before clearing to a :55.32 half. She kept the speed going up the backside as Campbell began an uncovered advance with Moosette to three-quarters in 1:23.4 and held her ground around the final turn. Moosette powered to the front in the stretch while Mystic Shadow retreated, and the five-year-old Hes Watching mare crossed the finish 1-1/4 lengths better than In High Cotton with Hottieonthehorizon third and Century Mach closing from last for fourth.

A homebred for Shale Stables, Moosette won her 20th race from 58 starts and has now banked $148,728. She paid $6.70 to win.

Marino’s other victories came earlier in the card. He won in the second race with Oh Look At Me (1:56.3 winning mile, $4.10 to win) and later scored back-to-back victories with Myomylookatmefly (1:53.3, $14.40) and Biggio (2:00.4, $25.60).
